Installation Technician Helper

As an Installation Helper you will assist a Lead Installation Technician in installing, dismantling, and moving machines, overhead cranes, conveyor systems, dock equipment, racking and other material handling systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform the installation process abiding by all OSHA, DOT and site-specific safety precautions.
Maintain materials, tools, and supplies in order
Installs and dismantles machines and equipment
Moves materials
Measures, cuts, and installs hangers, using measuring instruments and hand tools.
Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment
Erects scaffolding
Nails together forms and mixes cement for machine foundation
Performs other duties as assigned
Perform semi-skilled and unskilled duties related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment.
Disassemble defective equipment, replace defective or worn parts, and reassemble equipment, using hand tools.

Education and Experience:
High School Diploma/(GED)
Previous Mechanical and/or Construction experience preferred.
Relevant knowledge of warehousing/distribution, pallet rack design, material handling equipment etc., is a plus!
Qualifications:
Knowledge and ability to properly utilize a variety of hand and power tools.
Comply with all safety rules and regulations both within the company premises as well as on customer’s jobsites, including client specific on-site training.
Utilize sound decision making and problem-solving practices.
Has experience with rigging and lifting equipment with cranes, forklifts, telehandler, etc.
Work efficiently with others.
Quick comprehension, flexible and punctual.
High standard of quality and attention to detail.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently with limited direct supervision after training.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with team members, customers, vendors and subcontractors.
Capable to comfortably work at heights on scissor lift, ladders, scaffolding, etc.
Must be able to stand and work for long hours with necessary tools and PPE.
Able to perform physical labor including lifting/moving heavy objects up to 100 lbs., prolonged standing, sitting, bending, pulling, pushing, kneeling and reaching.
Must be able to work indoors or outdoors in various year-round weather conditions.
Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.
Willingness to travel if necessary and work occasional overtime hours.
Must be able to pass background checks and random drug screenings.
Positive attitude and ability to comply with company policies and procedures.
