Fleet Service Technician

The work involves responsibility for keeping vehicles and equipment in good running order and, when repairs are needed, returning the equipment to service quickly and economically. The work involves tasks in the mechanical and electronic repair and maintenance of automobiles, buses, light and heavy-duty trucks, back hoes tractors, patrol cars, graders, rollers, pumps, hydraulic lifts, sweepers, vactors, various water craft, and other assigned equipment. The work is performed under the general supervision of a shop supervisor, and is subject to inspection while in progress and upon completion.


ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
AA degree in Automobile/Diesel technology from an accredited school OR a minimum of two (2) years of journey-level knowledge in Diesel diagnostics and repair of heavy-duty trucks OR completion of a four-year Diesel apprenticeship program which includes journey-level knowledge in Diesel diagnostic and repair of heavy-duty trucks.
Possession of, or the ability to obtain within one (1) year of employment and maintain thereafter, valid A5, A6, T4, and T6 Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications.
