4 Tests for Probationary Employees

4 Tests for Probationary Employees

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator

This test tests the candidate's ability to answer a series of questions asking them to choose between two answers. These four areas determine which candidate you are:

  1. How they interact and communicate with others - Introvert or Extrovert
  2. Intuition and Sensing - How they access information
  3. Thinking and Feeling: How they make decisions
  4. Perceiving or Judging: How they deal with the world

A candidate for ENFJ would, for instance, be an extrovert and intuitive person who can use intuition to judge other people and make decisions. The test revealed 16 personality types that are better suited for different roles in the workplace.

Open-ended questions

These questions should not serve as a test. They should not be used as a test. The interviewer should not force candidates to answer these questions.

  1. What would you say to your friends about you?
  2. How can you deal with workplace conflict?
  3. What's your passion?
  4. Are you a social person?
  5. What's your hobby?

Be specific with the type of profile you are looking for. You may be looking for someone who is friendly and open to conversation.

Calliper Profile

Candidates must review a number of statements and then choose the one they agree with the most. These areas are:

  1. Empathy
  2. Assertiveness
  3. Thoroughness
  4. And so on

This test will help you identify what motivates people and which roles they are most suited for.

Gallup Profile

The Caliper test is very similar, but there's one important difference. The Caliper test focuses more heavily on strengths and success indicators than any negative points. These can be very interesting.

Sixteen Personality Factor Survey

The 16PF test is also known as the personality test. It asks 170 questions and identifies 16 personality traits. This is true even for personality tests.

While it can be difficult to determine personality, it is crucial if you are to hire the right person.
